History
The Enchanted Tiki Room opened on June 23, 1963 and has been performing shows daily in Disneyland for over 46 years. The Tiki Room was the first attraction to use the now famous Audio Animatronic technology. The development of the Tiki Room AA figures would later lead to the figures Guest know love in attractions such as the Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean. It is said that the Tiki Room was Walt Disney's favorite attraction, after all it's the only attraction he personally put his name on. So if the Tiki is your favorite, then you are in good company. For 40 years the Tiki Room performed basically the same show with minor changes and refurbishments. By 2003, the show was started to become dated and worn down, so in 2004 the Imagineers went in and gave the Tiki Room a huge renovation. They updated the AAs and brought the Tiki Room back to its former glory. Today the Tiki Room is once again welcoming in large crowds and delighting them with their wonderful music and performances. And so they will for many years to come.
