In 1976, sponsorship passed over to Hawaii's Dole Food Company, which remains the sponsor to the present day. With it came the hardly noticed DoelPineapple Film. Which to this day, still plays in the Enchanted Garden just before the gods and goddesses perform.
Dole provides the unique Dole Whip soft-serve frozen dessert sold at a snack bar near the entrance.
Dole Whip is a soft-serve frozen dessert available at individual ice-cream vendors all over the US and most notably at Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Ala Moana Center Food Court in Honolulu, Kahuna Dog (the beach location) located at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, Unified Enterprises Corp in Kaneohe, and at Dole Plantation in Hawaii. It comes in the following flavors: Vanilla, Chocolate, Pineapple, Strawberry, Raspberry, go, Peach, and Orange.
At Disneyland, Walt Disney World, and the Dole Plantation in Hawaii pineapple is the flavor of choice. It is served in a cup or in a glass of pineapple juice as a "Dole Whip Float" topped with a maraschino cherry and Polynesian paper umbrella. Its presence at Disneyland is a benefit of Disneyland's long-standing relation with Dole Foods, corporate sponsors of Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room. At Walt Disney World, Dole Whip is now available outside of the Magic Kingdom at the Disney's Polynesian Resort.[1]
Though a Dole Whip has the taste and consistency of soft-serve ice cream, the dessert actually gets its texture from ordinary food thickeners. The only dairy content is a small amount of the milk derivative sodium caseinate.[2
